NEWS!
Yes, we have had a great deal of success in furthering our pursuit of Duckhills entertainment! First, we were able to track Benjamin McDonald down -- at his day job, no less! Then, Duckhills fans started signing our guestbooks. Then a member of another band featuring Duckhills member(s) chimed in! It's been a glorious few months! Stay tuned for more material on this site as we collect it!
Who are they?
Well, it wouldn't make sense to call them "unknown" if we knew who they were, but here's what we have. My brother (Skid) worked in Yellowstone National Park one year (hence his "Yellowstone" named side projects) and he and some buddies decided to drive to Denver (?) to see Poi Dog Pondering at a bar called The Mangy Moose. The opening band was a group called "Duck Hills." And they rocked! So mein Bruder snagged one of their tapes. That tape made it back to the home land where it was promptly copied. Then the original was lost. Some time thereafter, I, Gerber, returned from college. In the drunken days that followed, he played the tape for me, and I got into them. I got a copy of the tape. Some time later, Skid's copy was copied, and the first generation copy was lost as well as the original. A few years later, I lost my copy. Thus we were left with just a third generation copy that was pretty nasty looking. But that's not really history about the band. As for the band, we never heard from them again. Recently, 5 or 6 years later, we started trying to track them down again. We failed. All we have now is some scuttlebutt that Skid's heard indicating that the guys from Duck Hills occasionally still hook up with Poi Dog Pondering.
BTW: don't bother pointing out that the logo for these pages shows mostly swans -- there are some ducks in there, and we really liked that picture!
What do they look like?
We did, at one time, put our faith in artist's renditions of what we suspected they look like. But now that we're getting close, we have to admit that none of the bandmates wears a medic's helmet.
