"Remembering
Spongecake" will, for me, always be the definitive Duckhills
album. The spirit is upbeat, the music is engaging and entertaining!
There are the outright hilarious "Helen," "Cigarette,"
and "'Lil Bit Girlish." "Freaky Transactions"
is absolutely funky and rockin'! "An Emotional Day"
and "Succumb" offer a lighthearted contrast to some
of the more rauchous tracks while "Stalemate" and
"Fatal Request" give a Duckhills taste of meloncholy.
Every track is enjoyable, and the overall selection is varied
enough to make the album highly re-listenable! Do you regret
it didn't get more acclaim, or thank the Music Machine's ignorance
for leaving it to the genuine fans? I choose the latter.
