In this fan's opinion, there's a definite progression from Spongecake to Litter, and Kayak is a remarkable middle point. "Dumber than a rock" and "Blame it on me" are quintessential Duckhills tunes -- ironic, upbeat, fun and intelligent. Menawhile, "Radical cap" and "It's only tuesday" tend to the melodic much like their early Other Version works. This is the mellow album you can listen to any time -- not the bounce-around-like-a-happy-idiot vibe of Spongecake, but not the deeper more soulful vibe of Litter. And through it all, the Duckhills you know and love!
